Sanitary and Storm Sewer Rehabilitation

Fox Point, WI

The Village of Fox Point contracted with VisuSewer to rehabilitate approximately 6,965 feet of main sewer.

VisuSewer Fox Point Project

The Village of Fox Point regularly issues bids for its annual cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining project. For more than two decades, VisuSewer has been a key contractor, completing many lining projects for the village.

The village conducts periodic inspections to strategically plan and prioritize which sewer segments will be rehabilitated each year. The current project awarded to VisuSewer encompasses both full-length CIPP and sectional lining, covering a range of storm and sanitary sewers from small to large diameters and including both round and oval pipes.

One particularly notable segment is a 250-foot-long section of corrugated metal storm sewer pipe, which starts in a neighborhood with an open 42-inch-diameter end where ditches drain into the system. This section, located 100 feet from the road, had groundwater infiltration and exhibited signs of corrosion, including holes and missing sections of the bottom due to its age. To rehabilitate this segment, all debris was first vacuum extracted. Subsequently, the CIPP installation was completed by the install crew with the aid of a crane for liner placement and a boiler truck to heat water and cure the resin. Upon completion, the installation of CIPP with a design life of 50 years allowed the village to avoid costly and disruptive excavation of the old pipe.
