Interceptor System Rehabilitation
VisuSewer was awarded an $18 million contract to rehabilitate Heart of the Valley, WI's sewerage.

During a video inspection, surface corrosion was discovered in a 5.5-mile concrete pipe that carries wastewater from nearly 60,000 residents to the Heart of the Valley Metropolitan Sewerage District treatment plant in Kaukauna along the Fox River. The pipe was originally installed in 1977. The corrosion of the concrete pipe and structures threatened the longevity of the pipe.
VisuSewer was awarded the contract for work in the amount of $18 million. The rehabilitation project involved installing roughly 10,000 feet of liner inside the pipe. The liner is resistant to hydrogen sulfide, which caused the corrosion of the pipe. The biggest challenge was the logistics of the project, with most work occurring on the Fox River (rather than on land) and at night due to weather concerns (the materials used in the project are highly sensitive to temperature).
This project successfully rehabilitated the system to serve the district for an estimated 50 years without major upgrades. Without this project, more widespread damage would have been necessary, requiring more extensive and costly renovation or replacement.
