Sanitary Sewer Lateral Grouting/Sealing
VisuSewer has sealed over 2,500 laterals for the City of Wauwatosa resulting in millions of gallons of infiltration removal.

The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District is a regional government agency that provides wastewater treatment for over 1 million people in 29 communities in the Greater Milwaukee Area. Many of the sewer systems they serve have aging infrastructure, which is susceptible to inflow and infiltration.
The City of Wauwatosa began using solution grouts in 2017 as part of a comprehensive plan to reduce I&I in their system. VisuSewer began working with the city to identify the source of the inflow and infiltration. This was accomplished through a series of systematic inspection projects and procedures that were completed in collaboration with raSmith engineers. These investigations identified a significant amount of infiltration occurring in the lateral at the connection to the main and in the area immediately upstream of the connection.
Subsequently, the city began targeting removal of infiltration within the lateral. VisuSewer worked closely with the city to develop specifications and procedures to target infiltration removal using AV-100 grout and Logiball lateral grout packers. Initial projects targeted the first 5 feet of the lateral, but subsequent projects extended this range to the first 15 feet of each lateral.
To date, VisuSewer has sealed over 2,500 laterals for the City of Wauwatosa using these technologies. This work has resulted in millions of gallons of infiltration removal from their system.
